Below you'll find commonly asked questions we've received in the past. For additional support or to leave us feedback, please visit our customer service page on GetSatisfaction.com.
I don't want to register!
To help regulate the amount of spam we receive, we require an account to leave comments and submit issues. And, some members prefer an on-going relationship with the community so we profile the ability to have a small profile. Not everyone is here to get advice, some people enjoy giving it and we feel they deserve recognition. We allow completely anonymous submission through the Little Black Book iPhone application.
Is this service anonymous?
Anonymous access is currently only granted to Little Black Book owners. However, your user profile is as anonymous as you make it, and your email address is never viewable by any community member. You may add a secondary email to display to the community if you so choose.
If my issue is sent to the homepage, should I really break up?
Absolutely not! Well, maybe. Only you should decide the fate of your relationship. Getting voted to "BREAKUP" is our method of bringing more awareness and comments to your issue by separating it from the everyday drama. While your issue may require severe action on your part, sometimes a "BREAKUP" is the community's light-hearted response to show support for general questions or issues.
I voted to CHILL OUT but the number of votes did not increase? Why?
The number of votes (or 'breaks') displayed by each story only reflects the number of people that think you should breakup if you have a severe issue. We handle voting this way because we want to keep drama queens (and kings) seperate from the people that need serious advice from the community. Voting to chill out is another way of burying the senseless drama.
How are comments sorted?
We sort comments by the highest karma they are given by the community. This pushes the best advice to the top while preventing spam and negative comments from wasting your time.
Why don't you post the dates of submissions?
While we record the date a story was submitted in the database, we opt to not display the data to minimize the risk of someone associating the story to you based solely around the date it was submitted. This is another measure we've put in place to protect you.
Who's changing the format of my text?
Many of our users post their drama from the iPhone, which can sometimes make text readability very difficult. Staff members will occasionally divide your text into legible paragraphs, and edit your questions to make sure they meet Apple's rules and regulations.
Seeking anonymous access?
Would you feel more comfortable if you had completely anonymous submission access to BreakkUp.com? Owning the Little Black Book for your iPhone grants you exclusive anonymous access to post your issues through the iPhone.
