I feel like I need proof to believe in any God, because all people have said is "You need to have faith." What faith? the thing is though, I want to believe but it's not happening regardless of how much time I give it. It seems as though the more knowledge you have, the less you believe.

I refuse to have a religion because I do not want to get into those silly arguments about trying to prove something that there is no proof of. The thing with religion and God is that everything based on a theory, and all those who follow are trying to prove the unprovable.

Abortion. I think it shouldn't matter whether or not you have one. It's a womans choice. Sure she made a mistake, but that doesn't mean she should have to live with the guilt. If you're not ready to have a baby, then why should you? If you know you'll be unable to support then why should you have the baby? "Abortion is murder." My ass. The way I see it, if you cannot touch it with your bare hands or see it without it being projected on some screen, then I wouldn't consider it murder. It's a choice that should stay as choice.

Just a few of my thoughts. I'm a cynical realist. I look at everything in a sarcastic point of view, but I see the reality of it.

A cynical realist you say? Kind of describes my views as well. Except for the whole needing proof that there is a God. I think there's enough proof to say that there isn't a God already and it's our very existence. The ability to think and wonder of our origins alone can make up vast tales of wonder so why not God?

It seems like God and Satan and other supernatural beings of the like are simply constructs in which we remove aspects of humanity that we don't accept or like. Murder, adultery, basically every sin named is something humans naturally do. Seems to me that by making people believe that it's wrong and giving it a reason people will stop doing it. Control. Taking away choices from the individual and making them believe something they wouldn't otherwise choose to believe. Somewhat wrong don't you think?

I suppose so. The idea of being watched by a superior being makes people feel better. Knowing you have sort of a "safety net".

Not only that but they feel it's better to believe there's an afterlife. Who knows? We could simply end up roaming the Earth as spirits or be reborn. Nothing is to say we will move on.

The anticipation rather keeps you going, doesn't it?

I'd prefer roaming the Earth or rebirth as opposed to an afterlife. Even nothingness is better.

I've always imagined the afterlife to be just blank.

I totally agree with everything u said. Everyone is so strong about their religion but rly nobody knows.

I hate when ppl hate ppl because of their religion. My ex bff hates me now because she found out I was an atheist.

I agree with the abortion thing too. It's a womens choice. And if ppl dnt like it y dnt they try having a baby as a teenager.

If you think about it religion is no different than nationality, ethnicity, or political identification for that matter. Another label to make us turn against each other and lose sight of the fact that at the end of the day we're humans and that above all else matters more than any national, political or religious identity we could ever hold to.

I am a Christian, not only because I was born and raised catholic, then became Christian, but also I found overwhelming evidence I favor of it. In my opinion, if there is something that has as much evidence supporting it as Christianity has, and you don't believe it, you have more faith than I ever will.

Bs about abortion not being murder. How isn't it? Your are killing a living creature. Why do something in the first place if you don't want a baby? If you know the consquences in the end don't do it at the beggining if you don't want the end to happen. Pretty simple isn't it. Abortion shouldn't be allowed, it IS murder.

As for gay marrige why not? I say that should be allowed. Not saying in gay but what's wrong in that? That is how they are. There may be reasons behind it there may not. Doesn't matter

I'd consider abortion being murder with your third sentence if your referring to the fetus after the second trimester. That's the point in which their organs are functioning but as for the first trimester it isn't even fully developed let alone it's organs even functioning.

 Kira

I think it should stay as a choice. Be it abortion, marriage, religion, God, anything,

If u do it early enough the fetus doesn't even have a brain.

As for your abortion statement, again not trying to say your wrong or anything, it’s technically not killing if the fetus isn’t alive. In order for there to be death a “life” must be taken. Pregnancy is such a thing because most people who oppose abortion consider life as starting from when an egg and sperm cell unite. In my opinion, that isn’t life but rather the zero developmental stage. The moment that stage becomes one then two then ten then a hundred life’s developmental process begins accelerating at an increased rate. Life only takes on it’s fullness after the second trimester in which the organs begin to function. Life then takes on full meaning and purpose to me.

However, complications arise and people need to make critical decisions in which they have to choose between the child and the mother. That is another circumstance in which abortion should be allowed. But then again, it’s a woman’s choice regardless and only her choice. I mean why can’t it be her option? Simply because adoption is better? Adoption isn’t as great as people make it seem because just like abortions it has it’s dark side and ask any person who’s had to live in different foster homes and you’ll see.

I think with the afterlife thing. If. Their is a heaven It isn't palpable. It's in your head. It's not interactive. It's your dream. And it's different to everyone.

I think ppl dnt chose their sexuality either

2
 Snowy58red

In a sense yes and no. People don't choose it because we are all inherently born asexual but develop into male/female depending on our genes. Furthermore our subconscious doesn't distinguish male from female. However, our conscious thoughts and choices do so to an extent we do choose our sexuality but once that extent is reached who knows?

I believe in God and he's my everything:) and I believe everyone's different and we should just accept that and not make fun of people just cuz they're different and let everyone live in peace:)

The bible is a mith and fairytale while Christianity is a scam. Listern to this.

Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant (Genesis 17.14) Oh so that’s why Social Services look after so many children.Burn your children Genesis 22.2.

Have sex with your female cousins (Genesis 28.2), If you assume that liberals are wrong, are you assuming that homosexuality is wrong? What is wrong, very wrong is the right wing of religion and those idiots who only use certain passages from the bible to justify their position. Consider for a moment how the bible was used to justify racism against black people over a great many years and ask yourself if you condone that or are against it. Abraham put forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son (Genesis 22.10)

Talk about family values eh when you can burn your kids, have sex with cousins and kill your children. What a great book the bible isn't. the bible has views on a great many areas, The sad thing is that most are ignored and the focus seems to be against homosexuality.

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you (Genesis 9.3) Ummm, not too sure that I want to eat absolutely everything that moves thanks all the same so I’ll opt out if you don’t mind.

You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.' (Genesis 4.3). Be careful where you plant your fruit trees. You can’t be a Christian and have anything less than 20/20 vision because Leviticus.21.20 states that you may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in your sight. No opt out for anyone wearing prescription glasses or contact lenses I’m afraid.

I'm a born-again atheist.Atheists will celebrate life, while you're in church celebrating death. This crime called blasphemy was invented by priests for the purpose of defending doctrines not able to take care of themselves. The inspiration of the bible depends on the ignorance of the person who reads it.Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful. If god exists, he loves bloods.

When we are judged, what will you say when you do see Christ?

I think it's pretty clear that Akram doesn't believe in religion nor do I for that matter so we don't view the afterlife as you do. It may differ from his view but as for my view I simply think our consciousness simply lives on. Our soul if you will.

Honestly I'd probably say something like this if I ever did meet Christ: "People find it easy to have faith in you rather than the faith you had. They can't have the faith that you had. They won't die for what they believed. However, I know what I believe is worth dying for because it's every fiber of my being and that is my belief that no matter what you or your God do to me. And if you can't accept me into your Heaven because of how my beliefs are so sinful, so blasphemous, so religiously wronged then I don't want to be accepted because quite frankly I won't change my beliefs simply to be accepted."

In all honesty, I'd probably be a Constantine like figure. Heaven won't accept me, I won't go to Hell so my only remaining choice is simply to stay on Earth. Doesn't matter how long I have to but my beliefs won't change simply to appease any high being.

I'm agnostic. I believe there is no way of nothing out there besides what we have in front of us. I believe in evolution, or maybe Adam and Eve were primates, lol jk. I believe gay marriage should be legalized, there obviously needs to be a push against AIDS for everyone not just them. I believe abortion is fine as long as you're a rape victim or you know you can't afford to take care of a child. It shouldn't be completely paid by the government though. Even though, I'm agnostic, I have some belief in Buddhism. Religions in general are interesting to me. I just feel like Western religions aren't for me. I don't like when people force religions into others or challenge others beliefs. Believe in what you want to believe in. If you're not doing anything wrong and you are happy with yourself and what you have, you don't have to believe in a greater being if you don't want to. Start believing in yourself first.

I think te world is falling apart because of religion I think it's so stupid to say the bible says I must do this I

must do that is just stupid and the whole god thing that he created all of this I just idk. Seems so farfetched and well so blah.

The bible seems like pure bs and ppl have written in it centuries you never know was it really what god wanted for us or not so just whatever.

My personal belief on belief is secondary to my rational thinking. But I believe that as humans some look to these higher powers as a guideline, such as you would have idols and rolemodels. But people aren't perfect: these are. And as for afterlife, some people need something to look forward to if their life is terrible. Religion is a comfort.

Abortion I am conflicted. On one hand I think that even the safest couples have accidents. On the other I think that when you have sex you know the consequences, and that you should live with it. I'm not sure.

Gay marriage. Eh, who cares? Labelling them as "gay" and seperating them from "straight" people is just like singling out a race or a religion (or lack thereof) and putting them out of society. I think let them be married. They love each other. Is that not enough?

Also any religious text doesn't tell you to do anything. It's paper. Written by the hand of man. So when you read Harry Potter are you going to buy a wand and cast spells? Doubtful. It's just a scroll/book/whatever. Not the law.
