That rule has never worked for me nor the shoe size or for arm size. Or else it would either be extremley huge or really small haha but if that happens for you that's cool =]

You can't tell from any real part of a guy that will tell you about his size. The shorts or sweats idea doesn't work unless he is hard. Their is two type of guys, the growers and the showers. The showers are the ones you could see through the shorts and because you can pretty much see their size. But the growers stay small until excited and then grow a lot to full size.

I have heard that if you have a guy spread his hand open, the distance from the tip of his index finger to the tip of the thumb. Spread the thumb and index finger as far apart as you can and that is the max size. That test is still in the air but that is one way I have heard girls say. And also the thickness is the index and middle finger together.
